NROTC Grade Requirements and Chances

Ok so I have been doing my research and convincing my parents that this is what I really want to do. It is and I'm not only looking for a scholarship because my family is capable of paying but I'm doing this because I want to serve.

So I am a junior in High school - school just started and I think I have some time to improve my stats but more importantly I want to know if any one has gotten into NROTC programs and what their stats and extracurricular a were.

I understand that stats change every year and there no way to tell but I would like to know what those of you guys think. I know I'm not very competitive considering competition and the lowered budget so what do you guys see as places where I can improve. Thank you soooooo much thus means a lot to me!! I know there are many threads out there this is just my stress getting the better of me.

GPA: 3.7
SAT:2000 - 2100 ( still have to take it November but this is my prediction)
AP and Honors in everything but Spanish
Sports:
Freshman year-tennis team
Sophomore -varsity tennis
Junior -varsity tennis , indoor track
Senior-varsity tennis, indoor track
Asian Indian

Extra:
300 hrs volunteering - currently
Hospital
Nursing Homes
Yale GSI

NSF Contest Procter & Grader
200 hrs - more predicted

Red Cross Club ( possible leadership)
Key Club ( possible leadership)

Thespian Society - crew
News Paper
Math Honors Society (possibility )
Peer Tutoring

Assuming you do score the SAT, your chances at an NROTC scholarship are fairly solid. Just make sure you keep your grades up and participate in numerous sports. Also keep in mind that that they also choose the college for you based on qualification and preferences (I believe.) Good luck! I’m doing AFROTC and hopefully I can obtain a scholarship as it is a little more on the complicated/difficult side. You have another year to go.

Thank you and Good luck!! I’m sure you will do well.

Note that Navy and AF strongly lean towards certain majors. Best of luck to you.
