I have my officer interview for the NROTC scholarship next week an I feel very unprepared. My recruiter is taking me up to the interview and told me to dress business casual. I have a grey dress that my step mom said would work but i need advice for what type of questions he will ask and how to be prepared for it. Im applying to go into the Nurse Corps with the scholarship, Any advice will be much appreciated!!!!

Here are some possible questions he/she will/could ask you: Why do you want to serve in the Navy? Do you have family who served? If you do not get the scholarship, will you still plan to join ROTC in college as a Programmer? Tell me about your extracurricular activities? Are you going to be applying to USNA? Why or why not? What sets you apart from other candidates? What is your best subject in school? What is your worst? Tell me about your leadership activities?

My S’s interviewer was very interested in talking about S’s year 'round part-time job that he had from soph. through senior year.

The best preparation for any interview is to simply be yourself and come across as confident. Yes, make sure you know why you want NROTC and the Navy. Plus, know something about the colleges you want to attend. But you never know what is going to be asked.

By the way, your step mom gave good advice. Some people take business casual to extremes, and dress sloppy. In almost every situation it is better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Good Luck!
