NROTC Programs

I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the NROTC programs at the following schools.

U MICH

GWU

Tulane

Boston University

Wisconsin Madison

North Carolina State University

thanks a ton!

quiksilver, I pm'ed you.

PackMom, if you could provide me information on the UCLA and Berkely NROTC as well that would be great.

I know a little bit about Tulane...it's a pretty small group of midshipmen, about 30 from each class, but that is a lot higher than some of the ROTC units. Georgia Tech has about 25 mids in each of its classes. Overall, the average number of mids is about 50 for all of the bigger schools, counting crosstown partners.

azncreazion, the only one I have any knowledge of is NCSU. It is the largest NROTC unit of the NC schools (UNC and Duke). There are usually some MECEP midshipman in the unit. NCSU is a large school but does not have close to the 50 per class that GoNavyXC quoted. S's class there started out with 27. Going into senior yr. I think there are about 13 left.

Alright thanks anyways then.

Quick question, if you apply for a NROTC scholarship would they help you get into the college itself? I have a friend that was offered a NROTC scholarship through UCLA but didn't get in the first run. The officer in charge told him to appeal and the officer would get him into the college. But then again, he did accepted into 3 academies and is currently at West Point. Any thoughts or knowledge on this?

from the many people that i have spoken to, it truely helps to contact the CO of the ROTC unit ahead of time and let him know that you are applying to the school. Once corespondance is established, you can write a nice letter asking if they could maybe recomend you to the admissions council. Usually, if you are a student who may or may not get in, it will help, but it won't help the student who definately no get in on his own. Bottom line is however, IT DOESN'T HURT

however, i was really wondering if anyone has any info about the unit in U Mich. I was wondering how strict it is, how everyone gets along, and how respectable it is to the rest of the world.
