My son recieved a full Navy scholarship and I was wondering if they come to his school on awards night also and give it to him. I know if he had gotten into the academy they would have.

At our high school they did....you might check at your high school with whichever counselor is planning the awards night to see if they have contacted the person. If not, then you can ask them to arrange this and you yourself can call the NROTC folk. They delight in the opportunity to highlight this for the students.

I did as you suggested and check with both, and neither one was very helpful

Yeah when I went for my interview they showed me the giant $150,000 checks they give to winners of the scholarship, and someone told me they present them at senior awards nights... but I talked to my recruiter guy yesterday and he said nothing about it...

Shawna....ask your school counselor...YOU DESERVE some highlighting from that liberal bastion school of yours! I'd call up on your behalf, but they'd think I was a raving brainwashed idiot, so I wouldn't help your worthy cause. Best if I shut up and stay away. :-)

Aww thanks Peskemom! I'm thinking that maybe since my Marine recruiter was new, he doesn't know that this usually happens? (Or does it?) He didn't say anything about it. The Marine who showed me the giant checks was the OLD recruiter, who left shortly after I submitted my application.
