Ns 10

Hey any of you guys taken NS 10 before? Do you know if the course is curved or based on straight-scale?

straight scale

Pretty straightforward class. Only thing that you really lose points on are the midterms.

This is probably one of the easiest sciency classes at CAL btw, if you have any background in science at all if should be exceedingly easy to get an A.

Yeah, you can easily get an A. It's almost ridiculous. It's the easiest class I have taken, and I am not a science major.

easiest class ive taken at cal (its helps that my mom is a published nutrition professor) but I got an A+ and didnt even have to take the final. dont need to go to the classes watch the webcasts

Yes the class is easy considering the workload--3 counted tests, a few easy homeworks, and an easy diet analysis plan. BUT, as I'm taking this class right now, I'm having an issue with the temporary professors whose quality of teaching varies. Also, you can't rely on webcasts because some of these temporary profs. don't agree to doing them. It just sucks that we've only had Amy (the main prof) deliver like 2 or 3 lectures, because she's great as a lecturer. The other temporary lecturers' contributions in helping to teach the material have been spotty so far.

^ my point exactly. I took this class because I heard it was one of the easiest classes at Cal. I don't know about Amy midterms, but some of these random professors' midterms are quite tricky. I mean an average of 34/50 on a midterm for an "easy class" doesn't seem to fit that well.
Anybody know what the averages used to be on Amy midterms?

The class is supposed to have gotten a lot harder this semester.

yep it is harder. Comparing last semesters midterm to this semesters. I think it also has to do with the change of professors like every other lecture. and sometimes the questions on the MT are worded bad. But its still not too hard to get an A.
