Hey guys, I recently applied to the NSA Stokes scholarship competition and noticed that no one had started a thread for this year yet. I’m just wondering if anyone else applied, and once this thing gets going we should all try to share notifications like in years past.

Feel free to post your stats too, I think we could all use a feel for the competition this year!

Wow if anyone you’re stressing me out haha. In my opinion you’re definitely in good shape, don’t be too hard on yourself. It seems like you went beyond the means provided to you, and I think others (hopefully the selection committee) will come to the same conclusion.Anyway thanks for replying.
Also, what did you do when you worked for the senator? A lot of people on here say they do that kind of thing but I had never even heard of it until recently.
I basically do community outreach like attending neighborhood events, various assignments, and policy discussion. We have a video conference every week where we discuss assignments we have to do or hear from people in the Senate office. As examples, I went to a board meeting about Sea Grant and will go to a neighborhood board meeting. For assignments, we had to gather feedback on the sites of various Senators to improve our own and find organizations that do work in our community. I really like it. All the other interns are really smart and passionate. It is incredibly interesting to learn how the office and politics work. We got to see his office and he had different pictures signed by Obama. It’s pretty cool.
@realnoah I haven’t heard anything since the 30 update; they did say my resume currently wasn’t selected for further review, but the email did say I would still receive status updates every 30 days. Still nothing yet though.
