NSF Shutdown - Affect on fellowships?

So I'm applying for the NSF GRFP this year and noticed that their webpage is shutdown and everything seems to be put on a halt. Anyone know if the NSF fellowship application proecess is cancelled for this year?

I don’t think applications are due for at least another month or two, and the government shutdown will be solved by then, so I wouldn’t worry about all the fellowship programs missing a year.

Ah hopefully. Any clue if they usually push back deadlines for occasions like this?

Last time there was a government shutdown (1995/96), it was a total of 28 days. And with the debt ceiling still needing to be raised on October 17, things could be perilously close… Though hopefully they will get their act together sooner than that.

NIH and NSF have said they’ll announce adjusted due dates (if necessary) for grant and fellowship programs when the shutdown is over.

If you need to download the forms, there are a few sites that are mirroring the GRFP and other NSF forms, such as [this one](http://brianomeara.info/NSF).
