I recently recieved a invitation to go to the NSLC on Medicine and Healthcare, a field I have insisted for a long time to be my place as a doctor. While the curriculum looks nice, I don’t know if it justifies the money spent on the actual excursion. I’m definitely into the field and I want to work in it but is there any actual use to the knowledge one recieves there? I’ve heard that the program is also easily able to have paid entry, but that’s besides the point. Is it worth the money on a practical view that may help me out later on? Are there any other programs that focus on the same field that I can attend as a highschooler? Thanks in advance.
What grade are you in right now? I say go when/if you’re a junior (as of now). If you go at a younger age, it would’t seem worth it, to me. As an ingoing senior, the camp would be a lot more practical for you.
I’m a Sophmore right now, I had plans to take Anatomy next year as well. I’ll keep that in mind.
I say go for it, actually! As a sophomore that will still benefit you in the long run. Are you taking any medical courses right now? And just curious, how were you nominated?
**rising junior sorry
I’ve taken health and Pre AP biology but I plan to take medical practicium and Anatomy next year, provided I have room schedule-wise.
I was nominated by a teacher apparently, I recieved a letter and packet in the mail stating that I was nominated to represent my school in the medicine and Healthcare program.
I had also received this invitation and I want to go for Journalism and Media Arts. I also wanted to know if it is worth spending the money but more importantly I wanted to know if you just chose one topic and spent an entire week doing that or if you get to do all of the topics. My field is a little different than the other ones like Medicine and Healthcare, because there is several different choices you could choose from in the media arts section.
If you’re looking for a serious learning time, don’t expect much. But if you want a casual/fun experience go for it. It’s more of a fun camp than anything else
