Has anyone ever heard of this place before?

<a href="http://www.nslcleaders.org/leadership.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.nslcleaders.org/leadership.html</a></p>

A very unexclusive program that successfully markets to kids who want to pad their resumes. The kids who attend usually have a great time and say that it's a valuable experience, but it won't help your college applications.

My friend went to it. She liked it. She doesnt seem to understand it wont help her get into college. Luckilly her rich grandpa pays for it so whatev

I went the summer after my sophomore year and just like GeendayFan's friend, most kids there were under this obscene impression that they were automatically accepted to Harvard because of it. However, it was a productive thing to do with my summer and I learned alot about entrepreneurship, which was my program. It was cool to meet people from all over the nation, even if most of them were probably not on thier way to elite colleges. Some of the kids were REALLY gnarly smart and into business. One kid had started his own company from his computer and was raking in 50k a year already. That kind of impressed me!

ah, I see, so it's a good experience but won't help whatsoever with admissions.

I think it could a little bit with admissions. It expresses interest and a desire to learn.

lol that sounded so cliche.

^^if ur applying to competitive colleges, it will not help with admissions.

but it lets you know so many things about the area you would want to futher pursue...to basically put you on the right track to where you wanna go in life, because you also meet people who can help you

I wonder which Colleges GreenDayFan considers "competitive". =p I'm sure HYSP couldn't care less about it, but I'll be taking it with a college course, which will probably give it more weight on my resume.
