And I’ve only heard about two cities for China being released so far. I have no idea if they typically release notifications on different days, but that’s probably the case.

I’ve seen people post that they’ve rec’d “Chengdu summer with AFS” and “Xi’an Summer with ACES.” Are those NSLI-Y? But Bethany Thackeray (who seems to have the inside scoop on this thread posted a question “Has anyone gotten Kaohsiung summer?” No replies at that time. So…maybe that’s the NSLI-Y summer???
@JustWaitingHere Yes, they’re still NSLI-Y programs. NSLI-Y partners with different study abroad organizations to lead the programs in each city/country.
If no ones gotten it for Kaohsiung, then that means notifications for Chinese aren’t over then right?
@lalaji53 Kaohsiung is in Taiwan didn’t you have to pick if you want to go to China or Taiwan? Or am I mistaken
@xncc332 Nope, they don’t let you pick. On the application if you applied for Chinese language, then you would get selected to go to either Taiwan or China. Not sure all the logistics but I think that language proficiency at least plays a role into what city you go to.

I know they usually group students by language proficiency. Does anyone know the level of the two cities released today?
Or if you were accepted for the China summer program today what is your level of language proficiency?

@Shmoo24 I haven’t seen anyone mention their level on Facebook yet. But from the 2017 forum, Xian finalists commented that they were beginners. A Chengdu finalist said that they were a beginner as well.
Hello, everyone! Just to confirm, nobody has yet received an Arabic notification, and ONLY TWO locations for Chinese, so if you haven’t gotten a notification, not to worry!
Likely, Arabic has switched places with Chinese. As such, I would not expect any notification until next Wed/Thurs/Fri. Hang in there as this stressful month continues!!
How many locations are there usually? Sorry I’m just very anxious.
@xncc332 Not quite sure. Besides Xian, Chengdu, and Kaohsiung, I’ve heard about Nanjing, Kunming, Xiamen, Shanghai in the past.
Hey! Just got accepted today to go to Xi’an in the China summer program. Anyone else here?
If I have not heard about China yet should I assume I did not receive he scholarship?
I don’t know. From what i’ve heard there have been up to 8 total China locations in the past. As far as I am aware only 2 locations have been released as of yet. So I wouldn’t be disappointed yet as I highly doubt they will only have 2 locations!
