The NSO for Intl/OOS is in Sept and someone mentioned that class registration begins on that day. Is there a risk to not getting the classes you want by attending NSO so late in the summer? I understand they make NSO late for us since it avoids making a separate trip. I guess a better question would be, do students actually register for classes or do they just submit requests?
No all NSO sessions have class registration and they reserve the same spots for each session.
Thanks. So for clarification, there’s no risk to running out of space for certain classes correct?
@sawadeeka Yes that’s what I said above.
Well, apparently, they DON’T reserve class spots for each session. Most of the classes have already filled up. When my son attends NSO this week, hopefully they have a way to get him enrolled in the classes he needs.
@sawadeeka It will look filled when you look at myucla. It unlocks when you actually register for classes at that orientation session. Hope that makes sense. Like I said no need to worry. The only classes that fill are ones that are not first year level and have no first year protections. In that case those classes would divide the remaining spots amongst the sessions. Think upper div Econ classes.
Ah, okay. Thanks!
