NTU or BITS or NIT's?

After reading a couple of threads on the page, it seems like getting into NUS even with a % above 95 isn't certain.
a) Is this true for NTU as well or is getting into NTU relatively easier?
b)Will a 95% above percentage mean you're a good applicant for NTU? (considering 0 Olympiad medals and below 1000 rank in JEE)
c)Is it easier to get into BITS or NIT's or NTU? If you got into all which one would you pick?
d)Suppose one was to apply for a non-engineering science stream at NUS, would the chances of getting in increase? Then would the 95 board % suffice? Because I heard that the JEE rank was imp only for engineering aspirants.
e)I wasted my 11th, no JEE prep. Only good % in CBSE. Hence, will 1 year be enough to prepare for NTU (good board %)/BITS(bitsat)/NIT(mains) assuming that I won't be preparing for advanced?

a)I guess yes but not sure.
b)no.
c)See, BITS and NIT admission are based on a BITSAT and Mains respectively. NTU/NUS has no such exam(except for 4 courses in NUS). So, they can’t be compared as such imo. Obviously NUS, it’s the best college in Asia and also holds a very good world ranking.
d)Most probably yes.
e)See, I had sent a detailed inquiry to the NTU admission office recently and they told me that this year the only thing NTU is concerned about is board percentage. I don’t know whether this is true or not but I guess it must be as their admission office told me this.

Try to aim for 97%+. The only person I know who made it into NTU had scored 98.25% in ISC Boards. He’s doing Electrical Engineering.
BTW are you now in class 12 or have already passed out?

^this.

I am currently in class 12. And thanks for the reply. Also, is it true that a person who dedicates his/her time in studying for JEE does well in boards because the level is easier or is it recommended that in order to get 97% above one’s full concentration must be only on the boards?

I’m also in class XII currently, my seniors who passed out this year- the ones who were preparing for JEE Main and advanced scored more than 90% in boards (highest being 95%) the ones who didn’t, thought they had good scores in class X couldn’t even cross 85% mark. So, according to me, preparing for Main or Advanced is SLIGHT advantage. I’m preparing for Mains, not Advanced though and I think it’s useful.
