Just a few questions on NU's policies on sat scores. Do they take the highest single sitting, or highest from each section on multiple sittings? Also, is NU looking at the writing section? or are they going to look at the score out of 1600? And one last question, how much of a boost do good sat ii scores(700+) give u?
thanks

they take your highest composite score.

SAT scores/GPA are very important factors in admissions.

Say Ive taken the SAT 3 times and there are large discrepancies between the sections on each sitting, (700 first time on math, 650 second time, 600 third time) would NU still just take the highest from each section and disregard the other scores no matter how far apart they are?

They will do that.

Ok thanks. Im still deciding whether I should cancel my 3rd SAT or not so this information is important. I got a 710 my first time, 660 my second and I think I did even worse this time. I just don't want NU, or any other school for that matter, to think that the 710 was just a fluke. But since NU just takes the highest from each section no matter what, I guess I won't cancel.

no, cancel, they will look at all your scores, they just report the highest in their data

i think it shows it was a fluke

b/c i think what they would rather see is 650, 700, 750

for me, i went from a 740 to a 760 on my math, which validated my math ability

if i already sent sat scores, but want to use my acts and send those, will they disreguard the sat's since my act is higher? that was wordy.

no they'll look at both, they measure different things (or at least they used to, i don't know about the new SAT), those "equivalency" things are percentile-based only.
