Does anyone have recommendations for core electives in Arts/Humanities or Science/Technology. Any courses or teachers that are great or terrible. input appreciated

I can’t comment on Arts/Humanities, but for Science Technology, if you are decent with computers and can use Excel then I recommend CS1100 (I think that’s the number) called Computer Science and its Applications. It’s basically an Excel and Access course. It was really easy for me as you can use notes, there are tons of resources available for the course. The finals are optional depending on how well you did during the class. You can also use notes on the tests/finals. I had Peter Douglass and he wasn’t the nicest or the fastest professor, but he taught everything well.
I don’t recommend the Dinosaur course, I’ve heard people coming into Northeastern thinking it’ll be easy and fun. It’s not. I’ve had friends take it and apparently it is INCREDIBLY hard. You have to memorize a lot. That’s just what people I know have said though.

I took Music of the Jewish People for my Arts & Humanities. It was pretty fun and not much work. Don’t procrastinate on the essay at the end, though…
Pick something that looks interesting and then just check the ratings on TRACE or ratemyprofessors to make sure it’s not terrible. I’d aim more for something that interests you than something that’s supposed to be the easiest class. I’d just get bored. Plus, a class is easier if you enjoy the material.

The Meaning of Death is a great class, Susan Setta is amazing and it’s not too difficult. It fulfills arts/humanities and comparative study of cultures. It’s really interesting and you’ll definitely learn a lot and it’s pretty easy as long as you go to class.
