gah.

so is there no log in then?? just mail?

I was considering posting, “I GOT IN!!!” or something of that nature to cause mass hysteria, but I figured that would be a bit too mean.

i wanna know now!!!

@xxInkxx - do you still remember where that article on northbynorthwestern is? I wanna read it. =)

To those who posted way after I went to bed yesterday (haha), I agree; telling people I got rejected after the whole stupid school knows that I’m applying to Northwestern and I’m one of the very few people with such high dreams for college…that would suck. A lot.

Just out of curiosity, what do you think is the point at which applying ED becomes not as smart as applying RD. Do you know what I mean? Like beyond knowing it’s your top choice, what motivates someone to apply ED. What kind of pool is it vs. RD?

And on the topic of knowing when we are going to find out, ****.

:D

My friend is applying ED to Brown and he finds out tomorrow… everyone in the world knows EXACTLY when they’re getting their letters/emails and we’re all in the complete dark. It’s kinddddoofffff ANNOYING

I talked to admission office today, and they said they are mailing letters out 12/15!

WHAT!!! nooo that means i won’t get mine til like the 20th!!!
did they say anything about email??

WHAT!!! nooo that means i won’t get mine til like the 20th!!!

this is the longest school week ever. lol

That sounds crazy. It seems like since all the Ivies find out tomorrow, and people found out last year on the eleventh, that we’ll find out on the eleventh too. I mean, if they mailed the letters ON THE fifteenth, we wouldn’t find out till AFTER the fifteenth, and that would mean they had broken their promise of letting us know BY the fifteenth.

It is possible that Nu will mail letters on the 15th and provide email notification earlier. Mollykate did not say whether she spoke to an NU student manning the phones or an actual admissions dean. As we know from prior posts, the students answering the phones don’t really know what is happening.

Hasbani–I don’t recall a promise to notify us by 12/15. 12/15is identified as the decision day.

I cannot believe that NU would use snail mail only. It would make the University look backward.

this forum is so messed up like the posting system. it keeps posting doubles of my posts/changing their position in the thread so it looks like i’m saying random stuff out of nowhere :p

maybe something will happen tonight??? like an email or SOMETHING!!!

a phone call, fax, pigeon, anything!!!
lol

@Hasbani - that’s what I thought. But I guess since ED means we’re obligated to attend anyway, they don’t really care if we are dissatisfied with how long it takes them to admit us. =)

Why did everybody skip over ebright’s post?
No reaction at all?
Wow.
Anyway, ebright, I want to wish you the best of luck. I find your story very inspiring. Even if you don’t get into NU, the college where you’ll eventually attend will be incredibly lucky to have somebody that had the courage to change their life and attitude as you did.
As a person that has always done well in school, I cannot even begin to imagine how much determination it must have took for you to overcome your “old self”.
Best of luck!

HOLY.

i didn’t even see that post!! i went back two pages and BAM it was like a full novel haha.
ebright you’re awesome!!! good luck, if one school made you change that much and for this long i applaud you:)

quick question guys, since i’m canadian we don’t really have gpa’s here. So i’m wondering if anyone could calculate a sort of kind of GPA for me if I tell you my overall average?

I’d say it’s between an 87 and a 90 :). So what’s the gpa equivalent? and what’s weighted/unweighted??

AHHH GH!!! what is going on??!! my post somehow ended up BEFORE inks??? but it was a response!

An 87 is a B+ which is a 3.3 UW, at my school. A 90 is an A- which is a 3.7 UW at my school.

Stop travelling through time, nutterbutter.
You’re screwing everything up!

xD

I think you take 87+90 and then divide it by 2?
I dunno…haha
