hahah it’s true. i somehow
a) post in the future
b) post before other people minutes, sometimes HOURS after they’ve already posted?

I’m canadian, and my clock is one hour ahead of chicago’s but i don’t know if that should change anything? haha right now I’m posting at 8:08 but I imagine it will say i posted at 9 or something hahahha

hi!
i’ve been reading this whole thing haha and i didn’t think id get addicted but i did. last night i read like all 25 pages… but i decided to contribute finally.

Well, today my guidance counselor called the admissions office and the just said that we’d know sometime around the 15th… but thats not helpful at all. They’re just stating the date that they say on everything- the 15th.

I’ve been to the info session at Northwestern twice- one of them was just a month ago- and the woman even said that although the official date is the 15th that they almost ALWAYS notify people early by a couple of days or so.
I really just want to know!

I didn’t think they’d opt to post our decisions on a weekend, but Saturday seems believable. I’m doubting tomorrow though. :/

Probably because I’ve got a final at 7 pm and won’t be home until past ten… Idk, I’ve have a feeling it’ll be at a time where I can sit and auto refresh CC with everyone for admissions results! haha.

@sondosia and others who have noticed i have acquired the quirky talent of being able to post IN THE FUTURE hahah i think i know what’s going on:

when I post, it shows a time. Now however off that time may be, it’s there. e.g. i posted at 8:08 and it showed 8:17 but what happens is, when someone posts and it shows the PROPER time, e.g. stasis at 8:08, CC assumes that since the time came before mine the post must also belong before mine. THUS their answers showing up BEFORE MINE and vice/versa.

if it were to come out on a Saturday, what time do you suppose that’d be?

I know when it’s been released on weekdays in the past it’s generally been 5 or 6PM. Do you think that would change because of the weekend? The admissions office is supposedly only open till about noon on Saturdays…

see? SEEEE? i posted before you, crazygood! your “Test” wasn’t there while i was posting! grrrr. this is frustrating. me want fixey. AND LOOK AT THAT. It’s 9:10 on my clock. HOW IS IT 9:17???

appreciate the support, yo. i hate all of you by the way i was doing such a damn good job of just saying “dont think about it ebri you aren’t going to get in so dont bother” but now i check this thread all the time haha. oh well. it kinda is my college decision.

to help us all allay the anxiety(we’re biting our nails and fighting over the server’s time clock issues…seriously?):

-where do we all hail from? i’m from a nifty little city called Paducah, in far western Kentucky.
-what are we planning to major in @ NW? i hope to attend the School of Communication. I’m not sure which program yet, but that was what I LOVED about NW over other schools was that it didn’t matter, I could take classes in almost any individual program that I wanted to, and they would STILL count towards my major. possibly a double major in journalism, specifically in the photo/media area.

-what’s your plan B? plan C if it comes to that? my plan B kind of intertwines with my plan C. if or when I get that notification of decline from NW here in a few days, i’ll be waiting on decisions from USC(Cali) and Temple(Philly). USC is actually harder to garner acceptance to than Northwestern is, NW accepted ~25% of applicants for the class of '12, whereas USC accepted ~20. I may have an ‘in’(for lack of a better word) to USC but that doesn’t guarantee acceptance, so who knows. i’ll be studying interactive media there, and or more or less the same thing at temple. plan c, if it gets that far(knock on wood), Indiana Bloomington, Belmont in Nashville, University of Kentucky or Louisville, who knows.

I like book-style posts, makes it seem more worthwhile to read hehe.

Argh, BY Monday gives us no new information. :(

I’d be going to major in Chemistry (for now at least), and for my hopefully unnecessary backups, my first would be UNC, second would be whatever RD schools I can muster the courage to apply to.

I’m from the Chicago suburbs (but not Evanston), and I want to study Linguistics/French at NU… I applied to SESP because I hope to earn a secondary ed degree, but possibly double major in linguistics. We’ll see where life takes me.

I’ve applied to several other safety schools, but I’m honestly not sure what I’ll end up doing if I get a rejection letter from NU. Don’t know where else I’ll be happy, which is kinda bad.

crazygood, you’ve mastered the art of posting in the future! my clock says 9:36! :D

I’d be majoring in Theatre at SoC and Plan B is all my other RD apps, top choice in RD Brown (which, of course, is so far out of my league. applying kind of just for the fun of it to see what happens). Backups? Staying in canada XD.

And I agree with you wysetri. I would definitely feel the most at home at NU, but I guess I could manage at UNC. I mean, I’m a humongous Tarheel fan (less intense than my Wildcatness though) and the campus is pretty nice.

But after spending time on both campuses, I can assure you that NU is definitely where I belong.
