Winston Salem is very nice. I'm in Greensboro, if you know where that is.

And only by mail? Oh no! Well, that means I can only really freak out and check once a day from now on, and it's more traditional. But still. That means it's going to be slower. :(

Well the lady also said you will know for sure by december 15th, so maybe that means a little before but no later than, I dont know you should try calling, because I dont want to keep annoying them.

I suppose it's entirely possible that they won't release decisions online this year... They don't guarantee an online decision anywhere do they?

I'd so much rather get it online... rather than wait on the mailman...

From their website:
"
You will be able to track your application's progress online starting two weeks after the application deadline.

Your admission decision will be posted online according to the following schedule:

* Freshman Early Decision - Mid-December
* Freshman Regular Decision - Early April
* Transfer Decisions - Rolling basis after May 1 application deadline "

That almost does seem like a guarantee for online viewing. Doesn't mean they have to stick to it though.

I think I may have passed a sign while driving in NC? But I can't be sure, unfortunately and I must admit, I'm terrible with directions. The whole no car freshman year won't bother me a bit haha.

Only by mail!? I'm with soundguy, I'd rather know online. Oh well, no complaints Northwestern, it is up to yall. Now I'll be paranoid about the envelope size...

Yeah it kind of sucks you find out if you get in before you open the envelope.. like if i get a small one il be praying to be deferred, this is the first year they're deferring right? Oh and just wondering, which specific colleges did you apply to at NU?

True. That's the only bad thing I wouldn't like about getting my decision through the mail (if speed is not a factor).

Does anyone else like the excitement/anxiety of ripping into an envelope (such as AP scores, since these are not available online)? For that one second, you are just absolutely in suspense. Not sure why, but I love it. :)

Yeah... Is NU a big-letter school though? I know Dartmouth sends small letters for acceptances, would NU do the same?

I'm giving myself excuses to not freak if I come home to a small envelope. :D

I've heard they'll probably not defer for ED unless it's a rare circumstance. They reserve the right to do it, but with ED it's most likely a yes or no.

Oh man, i dont know, i think thats what i understood the representative who came to my shcool to say. But maybe they were talking about RD, someone should call and ask lol
I'm also applying to WCAS

it's crazy that we could know in a week! If they don't do logins and we do have to wait for the mail, then I hope that NW is a small-envelope-for-everyone school! I won't find nearly as much enjoyment "ripping" open the mailbox and having the surprise ruined by envelope size as I will RIPPING open an envelope!

i'm WCAS. and no ink, i'm not the 36/2400 kid. lol.

If all we get is a letter, do you guys think it'll really take all the way till December 15? I CAN'T wait that long.

I applied to Medill, which, as I've just been informed by someone on another thread, is the most difficult to get into of Northwestern's schools...definitely should've applied to WCAS.
