Its not the tournament, but we'll be hosting an NIT game this Wednesday at Welsh-Ryan at 7pm vs. U Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Our bracket isn't super difficult, and could include a showdown with Harvard early on.

GO CATS!

GO CATS!

This is exciting for me as a lifelong BC fan whose dream school is NU. I’m already in at BC and waiting to hear from NU, and I’ve become a Wildcat fan over the last two years in both basketball and football (I was horrified when Persa went down on that amazing play). So here’s hoping the two meet in the second round (easy bracket my **! :P), but you believe I will not root against BC under any circumstance, even if I *go to NU. Hell, if I do, I look forward to the next two years in football when BC and NU face each other and being the only one in the Wildcat student section decked out in maroon and gold.

But otherwise, yes, go 'cats. :)

You’ll get your NU-BC matchup, that cats dispatched U-Wisconsin Milwaukee with ease. Shurna had a brilliant night from deep, and Juice was terrific as usual. Loved Marcotullios defense.

Northwestern plays BC on Saturday at 12pm EST/11pm CST. Game is being broadcast on ESPN. GO CATS!!!

PS: If you end up going to NU, please don’t ever show up to the student section wearing opponents colors.

NU’s got a shot at beating BC, which comes from the weak ACC conference.
But the NU Athletics site says that the game starts at 10 a.m. CST, 11 a.m. EST-Don’t want to miss that opening tip!

So suppasonic, do you think that Shurna’s ankle is finally healed? Is that why he’s really starting to heat up from the outside?

Thanks for the correction, got the time zones wrong! 11am EST game!

Shurna certainly is a lot healthier. He’s getting better shots since he can get open better, and because his shot is so ugly/flat he needs good elevation for his jumper, which he now his (did you see his dunk two or so days ago???)! But Eagles will be a tough opponent on the road. We’ll see!!!

“PS: If you end up going to NU, please don’t ever show up to the student section wearing opponents colors.”

Hahaha, that was a joke. I wonder what would happen though…

Heading to the game now (yes, I will be wearing maroon and gold!), should be great to see this matchup. Reggie vs. Shurna will be fun to watch, and if BC has to lose, I’d definitely hope it would be to NU. But I don’t think we have to lose! ;)

GO EAGLES!!! (no offense NU, just some fun rivalry)

How much fun to see NU blow out BC, and actually get to see the game on ESPN! If only Shurna had been healthy all year…

Congratulations NU and good luck!

collegecarla: what’s your BC/NU connection?

Oh well, wasn’t meant to be today for BC. I’ll be rooting for NU the rest of the way now – they looked great today. Actually, I have no idea how they didn’t have a better record if that’s how well they usually play. How much did Shurna’s injury impact them? It seemed to me like Thompson was the best player on the court.

If it hadn’t been for Shurna’s high ankle injury, the 'Cats would have probably won at least 2 more games in conf. - likely getting them into the NCAAs.

Also the season-ending injury to Ryan (again) and the reccuring hip inury to Cobb didn’t help matters either.

Unfortunate/ill-timed injuries has been the bane of NU men’s BB; last year, it was Coble (would have most definitely made the NCAAs last year) and in prior years, it had been ill-timed injuries to stars like Vukasic and Esch.

Juice is the most impt. player on the team (being the only true PG and leader), but Shurna is the best player on the team.

Shurna is healthier than he’s been since getting the injury and the 'Cats are plaing confident and loose; I like their chances in getting to MSG.

Btw, this is the 4th consecutive smackdown on an ACC team…

91-71 GT (2010)
65-53 NCST (2009)
73-59 FSU (2008)

Also, there was a pretty big and vocal NU crowd at BC for the game.

Wow, you know your NU hoops. Agreed with every single thing you said.

Virginia Tech got upset by Wichita St. Great news for NU as they would have been a likely semifinal opponent and real tough to beat (assuming we get by OSU/WSU).
