Hey guys, I am currently a sophomore at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. I applied to Northwestern as a senior in high school and didn't get in. I had about a 3.8 GPA unweighted, 4.75/5 weighted and got a 28 composite on my ACT. However, after a year at Illinois i have a 4.0 GPA in the 26 hours that i have taken. I also have 10 hours of transfer credit from APs and proficiency from exams. So what do you think my chances are? I also have some questions to go along with this...

1) I am debating whether to transfer in the Spring of 06 or wait until the Fall of 06. I want to apply as soon as possible but the way my classes are looking, i think i have a good chance at getting a 4.0 this semester also. Plus this semester i have 15 hours and a couple classes with mainly juniors and seniors (one 400 level class). Would this extra semester help much or is the 4.0 from last year sufficient enough in itself? I just want to know whether to wait or should i just send my transcript now since i want to know ASAP?

2) Anyone know the difference in acceptance rates for transfers at Northwestern in regards to Spring vs. Fall semesters?

3) They say they have rolling admissions. Does this mean if i submit my app for spring real soon I will hear back from them soon? One thing I am worried about is having to wait for the decision because the official deadline for spring is February 1st. What do I do about Illinois in that case? I would want to get my decision back about NU in time so that i could withdraw from Illinois without penalty or fee.

Thanks guys. any help is appreciated
