I’ve read several threads about Northeastern’s NU-In program. Has anyone actually indicated a preference for NU-In as a response in their common app? There are 3 possible responses: a) prefer NU-In, b) will accept NU-In, or c) not interested in NU-In as an option.
My son indicated that NU-In would be his preference. He would love to spend a semester in Australia, and he doesn’t seem to mind coming to campus in the spring instead of fall. I hope this improves his odds of getting in. His stats: gpa is 3.85 unweighted, 4.14 weighted. 32 ACT (33 superstore). He has strong ECs (class president, tons of leadership)
The NU In program while initially a “consolation prize” has proven very popular for certain students with a sense of adventure. If you choose that you are not interested in NU In and NU determines you do not qualify for regular admission then the result will likely be a denial.
