i'm interested in majoring philosophy, especially continental philosophy. i overheard/read somewhere that Northwestern has a great philosophy department with a continental (read: not analytical) bent; can anyone confirm this?

The department actually is unique in that it tries to reconcile Continental and Anglo-American philosophical thought. I just declared my Philosophy major yesterday, and am meeting with my adviser for the first time tomorrow tomorrow. Generally the classes get very good CTECS.

wow, that's kinda (as in, really really) awesome! could you describe your experience in the philosophy department a bit? many thanks
