Here's the deal. I got accepted EA to Gtown, ND, and BC, but I still think I may want to go to Northwestern (legacy). The short summary of my stats go like this:
White male, very good public high school
SAT: 710 CR 740 M 660 W
SAT II: 780 M2 770 Phys. 730 US History
Schedule: Most difficult classes offered throughout all four years.
Grades: 99.08 weighted, ranked 3 out of about 300 (Have been the highest academic achiever in a few courses)
Ec's: Very involved, have taken many leadership positions and have shown commitment throughout my four years at high school (Highlight of my EC's is my job as the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper)
Rec's: Very good (2 from teachers (Math and Journalism), 1 from counselor)
My Senior year grades may show a light decrease due to the difficulty of the courses. My schedule and mid-year grades look like this:
Band: 100
AP English Lit: 96
AP French: 98
AP Euro (online class, very difficult): 94
Adv. Calc: 100
AP Physics C: 99
Journalism: 97
My grade in AP Euro is the lowest grade in a social studies/history course that I have ever received, but it is also a very difficult online course. Will they notice this and will it negatively affect my application? Also, what are my overall chances of admission RD?

Forgot to mention that I applied to WCAS

Very good chances.
Especially with legacy status.

Chances are decent I’d say, those test scores are there… no one’s really going ot care about those 1st semester grades really I dont think. Good luck and congrats on the EA’s

I think you’re a strong candidate, and I believe that senior year grades can be important, so it’s good that yours are strong.

Thanks, I appreciate your insight

You should be able to get in, esp. with legacy

I don’t know how much legacy will count RD, but you’re a solid candidate anyway.
Good luck!

I hardly think a 94 is anything dire at all. 0.o

I think you’re a very strong candidate.
