NU Supplement. When is it due?

I just got an email from NU that says we can submit the supplement two weeks after the deadline.

Is this true :S

I got the same email. Here’s hoping it is true! That would be amazing.

me too! OMG, praying that it’s true. I hate when I open up my commonapp page and it still says “Supplement Deadline: 01/01/2010” UGH. An additional two weeks would put us at… January 15th for the supplement and all the rest.

Yeah that’s why I’m so nervous about waiting to submit my supplement! Maybe it’s an extension and the common app doesn’t reflect that yet? Someone should try verifying with the admissions office.

I just called and they’re closed today. Oh, and I sent them an email inquiring as to why the common app deadline hasn’t been changed. Although I doubt that will help us in time.

I just sent an email too. I don’t know what I’ll do if I don’t get a response. On the one hand, I could DEFINITELY use the time. On the other hand, I don’t want to screw myself over. :/

Hey everyone.

I called NU admissions yesterday and they said not to worry if your materials are in on Jan 1st or after the deadline. I guess it’s because they’re swamped with materials…

I never got the email though…

Of course they said this in a message not in person…

YES!

yay for having time to work on apps!

I will submit mine later. I mean if they sent an email, then it has to be true :P

@samedifference: me too. My essay is just… not satisfactory. But will they or will they not penalize when they see we submit them later than the deadline? Jeez, if they sent out the email, you’d think they would be in office to answer any questions.

but I’ll live life on the edge and submit mine later. If they have a problem with it, I’ll cite the email.

LOL I’m having paranoid fears that maybe someone hacked the NU website and sent the email to screw RD’ers over. But that can’t be true, right? Eheh.

when did you guys get the email? i never got one…

at approx. 11:00. BTW, if you don’t have Northwestern registered as one of your colleges on your common app, you may not have gotten it because it seems like NU got our emails thru common app.

i sent out my common app to all my colleges yesterday so maybe they didn’t get it yet? I got the emails about interviews though…I wish they would just send me the email…
I feel left out lol

hmm that’s weird. God now I feel like it’s a scam. XD. IT BETTER NOT BE.

I got it at 8:13 AM (PST) this morning. It was from ug-admission@northwestern.edu. Here is the text, if you’re curious:

Dear [samedifference’s real name],

If you intend to apply to Northwestern, please note that only the Common Application itself and the application fee (or acceptable fee waiver) must be submitted by midnight tonight. You will have an additional two weeks to submit the other components of the application (recommendations, supplement, etc.).

Warm regards,

Office of Admission

P.S. - don’t forget to tune in today’s Outback Bowl to root for the Wildcats!

I’m just going to work on it today and send it…
Just in case…

And I mean,
Doesn’t NU see when u sent it?
I feel like it will look better if it’s sent by the original date but maybe that’s just me.

That does look legit though…

Hmmm, I received the email, too. It looks real, but I’m still nervous about it since the Common App says the deadline in today. I’d much rather send it in later, though. I’m not perfectly happy with my essay yet, and could use the extra time. What are you guys going to do?
