Does anyone know about the nuclear engineering program at MIT? I am going to UIUC through NROTC, and am hoping to transfer to MIT later on. How good would University of Illinois' program look to MIT?

Thanks.

I can't say specifics but I know that Course 22 Nuclear Engineering here is pretty top-notich. Check out http://web.mit.edu/ned/www/index.shtml

Turns out it's one of the oldest nuclear eng. departments in the country

I've heard that C22 is very difficult and very small. Since so few students choose to enroll in it, C22 has a very "niche" feel.

I thought it was a grad major only. It is probably pretty difficult since it's nuclear. From what I heard so far, graduates said don't do it if you are not white because there are so much discrimination in this field when you work for the government.

I am white, but I plan to go into the Navy anyways. If I went to MIT, it would be via NROTC.
