Number in College? (FAFSA)

I’m a little confused about the FASFA question on number of college students? I’m an undergrad and I also have a sibling who is taking college courses while he is in high school. He has been taking them since sophomore year. He is currently a junior and next year will be a senior. He’s taking at least 6 college credits per semester his senior year. Does he still count as a college student part time?

Is he in a dual-enrollment program through the high school?

Yes

I don’t believe that he can be counted. Since he does not have a high school diploma yet, he cannot be considered a “regular” student and would be ineligible for any federal student aid programs himself - therefore he could not be counted as a college student on your FAFSA.

Dual enrolled students do not count on FAFSA as regular student enrolled in a degree program, refer to the Federal Student Aid Handbook, this one is a couple year old but still valid.
