<p>Are we allowed to send in multiple teacher/counselor recommendations if the school only requires one from each? And if so, do we need to use another rec form?</p>
<p>I'm looking at this in regards to UChi, Hopkins, Duke, Columbia, WUSTL, and Rice.</p>
<p>If the school doesn't say "don't send more than one," yeah, sure you can send in more. My daughter sent extras. You just make a copy of the recommendation form and write "supplemental" at the top. I would make sure that the supplemental recommendations aren't duplicative, though, and truly add something to the strength of the application.</p>
<p>BTW I thought Chicago requires two teacher recommendations. I remember this because one has to be english/social science and the other math/science. We homeschooled and my daughter had no outside math/science teacher -- so I had to write one myself. That was strange ... but I ended up liking it so much, I sent it to other places as a supplement. Then her usual second recommendation from an outside teacher went to Chicago as a supplemental one.</p>

<p>Yeah, you're right, UChi does require two teacher recs, but I was thinking of sending two counselor recs as well, so I just stuck that in there.</p>

<p>2 counselor recs? im guessing you go to private school. but anyways, have both counselors write it together so they touch every base. that is the only thing i can think of. my school has 50+ kids per counselor in every grade, so counselors have to know 200 kids and write 50 recs. im not sure if most of these schools want multiple recs, especially if they say the same thing. i would say pick the teacher that knows you best and have him/her write the rec instead of a bunch of teachers saying hte same thing. i think colleges use most of these recs just to make sure that you are a hard worker and respectful to teachers. i doubt that a teacher rec will get you into a super reach. also, counselor recs are to touch on things that you cant really say in your app or essays. the thing that can get you into a super reach would be your essay, and it has to be beyond amazing to help you get in.</p>
<p>Hopkins requests that you send no more than 5 and no less than 2. (I'm 100% sure...i called the admissions office)</p>
