Number of AP classes

Hello, CC members! I would like to request some advice.
I'm currently taking 4 AP classes (6 credits considering Economics and Physics), which is the highest number of AP's my school's seniors are allowed to take. During my junior year I took only 1 AP class. My high school doesn't allow students to take more than 8 AP courses throughout.

Unfortunately, this was the most rigorous curriculum I could get; I took almost all CP(the dumbest level) classes during my freshman year and moved up to higher classes with good grades. However, because my school wouldn't allow students to move up from CP to AP, taking 1 AP was the only option for me.

Now that I'm looking at other applicants with over 10 AP's taken up to their junior year, I feel that my taking 1 AP was an awful thing. From what I hear, the fact that I'm taking 4 AP's isn't even going to factor into my college app.

So, here's the question: would the low number of AP courses taken damage my chances?

It really depends on where you want to go, I don’t think it would be good enough for ivy but you still have a shot at plenty of good colleges. It also depends on grades, SAT, etc…

It all depends on your course rigor compared to other students. If other students have taken 8 and you have taken only 5, you won’t have the most rigorous schedule, so that will hurt you; however, it doesn’t mean you can’t get into the highest level colleges with great grades, SAT’s, and EC’s.
