Hey all.

On average, how many classes does a Binghamton student take every semester? I'm taking on two majors, and I calculated that after my AP credit I will have at best 5 and at worst 7 Gen Ed courses.

What's the maximum number of courses you can take per semester? I hope it's not too ambitious to want to finish all my Gen Ed and get at least two Arabic (my major) classes, all in freshman year. Is that likely?

Thanks!

Josh you’re so bad ass, I swear.

Classes are usually 4 credits each. More than 18 credits per semester is overloading and you need special permission for it, so most people take 4 classes per semester and then sometimes a 1 or 2 credit course, too.

I guess it could be possible if you plan your classes really well and get some Major/Gen Ed reqs to overlap. Freshman can’t take more than 18 credits first semester, but may take up to 22 credits second semester and every semester thereafter contigent upon having at least a 3.3 GPA overall GPA the previous semester.
