Number of classes per semester

Hey guys, I was just wondering how many classes people normally take per semester at Alabama. I’m really interested in having more than one major, and now I’m trying to figgure out which college I want to go to, so how many classes people take per semester might affect my decision… what do most people take? 4, 5, even 6 maybe?

How many could someone reasonably take and still have time for a social life and clubs? I’m a pretty smart guy; I got into the Fellows Experience this year, which I’m pretty excited about- but now I have to make decisions between places like Alabama and Duke (they sent me an e-mail telling me that I will be accepted for sure) and wherever else I get into in April, so an honest answer would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, I don't know what major you're looking at, but going for AE, they sent me a recommended basic schedule which is pretty packed for 4 years straight. I think its 6 solid (maybe 7??) for me. For you though, check out your college's (not university, rather the college - law, eng, lang, etc) website. They'll probably post something along those lines.

This probably won't help you anymore (I'm assuming you are a freshman this year wherever you chose) but for anyone else who's wondering, a full schedule per semester at Alabama is 17 hours. Most classes are 3 hours of credit. I'm taking 5 classes this semester and so far it's working great.
