Number of classes

i have 7 classes on daily block scheduling

periods:
1,2,3,4 on "A" Days
5,2,6,7 on "B" Days

we have the classes every other day so it's A, B, A, B...and so on...

2nd hour is daily and last 1hr, all other classes are every other day and last 90 mins. lunch is 30 minutes and is either before or after 2nd hr (depending on what building you are in)

I like it because I don't have any class (other than 2nd) every day, and we have a perfect length class, not too short, not to long.

first bell rings at 9:20, final bell is at 4:20

everyone must take 7 classes, though you can dual enroll at the local community college, have study hall, be an aide, or be in the internship class and leave early and/or come late

starryeyedgirl: It's hard to believe that your school goes up to 4:20 PM! But, then again, your school does start fairly late.

Our school starts at 8:10 AM and ends at 2:40 PM.

bah. we start at 7:45 and end at 2:50.

i would hate to not start untill 9:20. I have never heard of a high school doing that. we go 7:55-3:00, by the way.

9 classes: 7 at school because of zero hour
1 internship which goes in as 8th hour and has some stuipd requirements along with having to intern
1 college math class

4 per semester, 1 is your major (vocational area) that you take twice a year (or go on co-op/internship).

If you go on internship/co-op, the only class you have to be present for is English.

4 a semester, 8 the whole year, we are on the block system.

I like it, because I generally do better in fast-paced classes (I just can't pay attention in a class where we never do anything) - not to mention that it resembles college more. The problem is that it really magnifies the teachers who suck - some get through hardly any of the actual book, as will be the case in one (possibly two) of my AP classes.

6 withj the option of 7 for athletics or whatever
