Number of Courses?

Well, I was wondering how many courses you guys take each year. In my HS, the maximum is 7, but some people I know take 8 and I feel that that is a disadvantage, considering that they will earn more credits and gain more knowledge, not to mention an additional chance to raise their GPA.

Thanks for your input!

im taking 5 now

The maximum at my school is 8. It’s my junior year and I’m taking 6 right now

Does anyone honestly care that much about earning high school credits, as long as you graduate?

Learning is in your own hands.

More classes mean more work. ;p

5 min
7 max

5 minimum
6 max

4 per semester

We have 7 bells. But if you take semester long courses you can take more than 7.

You can take up to 9 courses in my school since we have 9 periods.

You take at most 8 per semester, which is average. If you pass off all of your prereqs you can get it down to 4-6 per semester. (We’re on block.)

4x4 year (4 per semester)

I’m doing 9 per year+summer courses. Usually a rising junior in my state has 16 credits–I’ll have 20. One needs 24 to graduate.

Four per semester.

I wish I had eight per semester! Imagine what could get done!

Let me clarify…

Some of the 8 per semester classes you take for a full year. So throughout the full year you can only seem to get 8 classes depending on your schedule.

8 per year plus lunch. :)

4 per semester max, 3 min. All classes are only 1 semester - but AP classes must start as a different name first semester, then official AP second (or you get dropped to CP credit)

7 classes; we go by quarters.

There are 7 periods in the day, excluding lunch, so the vast majority take 6, and the other being study/gym. I personally am taking 6 this year, but 7 next year.

4 each day alternating days for a total of 8. Also a few classes are semester long.

The maximum number of release periods for seniors is one, barring special circumstances, so must students take all eight.
