I'm having some problems with this. How do you calculate this?

Are AP and Honors courses counted as having more credit hours than regular classes?

A typical class that lasts, say, one year, would have how many credits? An AP? A Honors?

Thank you so much for your help!

For my school, if you take a year long class (say, Algebra II), then you’ll have a credit for that class at the end of the year. If you take a class that’s only a semester, you get half a credit.

AP and honors give you the same amount of credit as standard classes, but it weights the GPA. So we get an extra GPA point for AP, half of one for honors.

It could be different in other states, but that’s how it has worked at every school I’ve been to.
