Number of Early Decision Applicants

My friend applied ED. Does anyone know how many people applied ED this year?

They don’t formally release that information until they complete their Common Data Set. That won’t be until January 2012 for the current applicants. My D applied ED last year, and is now a freshman at Furman, and we won’t have the formal numbers until January.

They did provide a press release last February regarding the number of ED applicants but it was not a formal number. You can check and see if someone in Admissions will give you that number but they are not supposed to release them. Good luck to your D

NYTimes blog, The Choice, reports that Furman noted a 58.77% jump in ED applications from last year. (hope this attachment works!)

Does anyone know roughly how many telephone interviews Furman is doing next week for the Hollingsworth scholarship for ED applicants? What kind of questions do they ask?
