number of ED applications

I just found this Some Early Returns on Early Admission - NYTimes.com

It shows the number of ed apps at 545 up from 538 for WIlliams.

A number of other schools are also listed.

With only 7 extra applicants this year we can most likely assume that the same standards will be used to judge acceptance! This is good news! Any idea if the Record has published an article about ED numbers yet?

Here is the Williams record article

[434 apply for Early Decision admission : The Williams Record](<a href=“The Williams Record – The Student-Run Newspaper of Williams College Since 1887”>The Williams Record – The Student-Run Newspaper of Williams College Since 1887)

35-40% acceptance rate sounds pretty good to me! Is anyone going to make an ED wait thread?

well I am certainly waiting…

So I suppose only two of us are? Judging from the activity here versus other threads…

lets hope thats the case :>) I saw on another thread your data. Your chances look very good. More challenging for me…

It’s a tough school for anyone to get into but, hey, I agree we both stand a better chance if we’re the only two! Or maybe Williams applicants are just very studious and wont use this board.

Did you get a request for a hard copy of the ed commit agreement this week?

I had sent them in a hard copy… the common app never requested me to do an online one, and my counselor sent it in with all my other materials. If you check the application status thing, does yours show up? Mine lists it as something they received so that could be why?

@benjaug and montaug: I’m waiting impatiently as well…

Yay a third!

ahem. a fourth  Yup, I love that place already.

This is an interesting article from 2005 that I found on Williams admissions.

http://www.williams.edu/alumni/docs/review/fall05/recipe.pdf

^^^ That article really is very interesting. While reading it, I found myself trying to picture the committee discussing my son’s application, and wondering what they liked and disliked and what their comments were. Hmmm… I’d give a lot to know, but of course it would be impossible at this point.

Well, I would say the net was very positive; given your cc name. Hopefully we will be so fortunate.
