Number of SAT IIs?

I've just finished taking SAT I, will be retaking it again this month (but that's a different story), so I was wondering about two things:

Firstly, when would you guys recommend taking the SUbject tests.
I'm currently in my last term of 11th Grade, and most of the test matter seems to be only slightly more advanced than my current level. So when did you guys give the tests? In 11th/12th/after leaving?

Secondly, I'd also like a bit of advice on the number of tests to take. I mean, I"m aiming for Harvard or MIT or colleges of a similiar caliber, I plan on taking Chem, Phys, Bio, and Math level 2 tests. Is that about the requirement?

Thanks,

I would recommend takin' the SAT II either in November or December of 12th grade.

As for the HYPMS schools, each of them have individualized SAT II requirements. I think most require 3, some of them have specific tests, others don't. I think the ones you plan to take are okay.

for HYPMS, you have to take a minimum of three subject tests. Of these there must be 1 Maths subject test ( level 2 recommended ) and one science. The third subject is any one of your choice.

I would also recommend taking your sat2 exams in like October or November of the senior year. This is because of the simple fact that you would have covered most of the syllabus covered in the exam> without proper preparation, you wont be able to ace the sat2 which require technical skills. In the meantime , my advice would be to improve upon the Admission process. Take a chill pill, and then do your researching, Gather information , ,Do stuff, participate in Extra curricular and do great stuff that highlight your passion . Start browsing throught the websites of these colleges and keep talking to other people.

Before you even start your journey at CC, lemme warn you of something,
AT CC there are all kinds of people , some who know nothing and are bragsters, Some who know the wrong information which may occasionally harm and some who give the correct information. At most occasions it is almost very difficult to segregate these information. So keep an eye at whatever happens. Cross check all fact and advice you ever receive at CC.

SM

I agree with sm and izzy.

I'm assuming you are good at maths because you are indian (terrible of me i know). So I think you would be able to take that anytime in your 12th year, to get it out of your way.

To be on the safe side, I recommend the later months for sat 2 tests. When you have near finished your subject curriculum in your school.
I will personally be taking them this year octoberish.
best of luck!

well if you are confident enough that you will score high in your first attempt then yes take it in nov. or dec...but if you want to get a taste of te subject test before then the best time would be june....right after your class 11 finals exams...you can easily do the basic 12th course in the summer holidays and give it a shot...

Thanks guys for the advice, I'll probably do as you've suggested, (will be chatting with my school's career counsellor for a while first though. Thanks again.
