Okay, I realize that this question might have come up before, but for 2006 applicants (i.e. class of 2010), if you have taken the New SAT I, are you still required to take a total of three SAT II's?

I know that the norm used to be to take the SAT I, SAT II writing, and two other SAT II's, but doesn' the new SAT make up for the writing subject test?

Thanks for you thoughts and input!

yep, 3 SAT II's are still required!

ah, dangit! You'd think that the new SAT would cancel out one of the subject requirements (i.e. old SAT II writing). Thanks for the heads up!

yeah, lol, i know what you mean... ugh. And I only have one so far!

i recommend taking five or six and keeping the best three that are at least over 750.

What would you all suggest for my son. He has taken 3 and scored well on them to not take any others but they are Math Level 1, Math Level 2 and Chemistry. Will Princeton count that as 3 or just 2, Math and Chemistry.

I thought there was a previous post on this and Princeton was requiring 2 SAT IIs with the new SAT.
Also, there is no clear answer on taking both the math tests, but that is what my son has done as well.

I don't think the two maths count as two separate subjects.

Also, I think it is more beneficial to retake a test that you didn't do so well in (if you're ok with the subject) than to take 6 or 7 different tests including some that you might not be comfortable with.
