Number of SAT prep books

I was just wondering, how many SAT prep books did YOU buy? I currently have the blue book only, but I know I will definitely buy more in the future. I might not know when to stop.... so on an average, how many vocab books did you buy? How many Math prep books? How many Reading/writing books?

I only used the Blue Book, and didn’t even do all the practice tests, and managed a 2360.

I used the Blue Book and Direct Hits, and like lidusha, did not complete all the practice exams because I felt prepared by just taking those that I did. It’s not a matter of how many books or practice tests you take; it’s about taking the time to get something out of them. I detail preparatory tips in my guide.

BTW Silverturtle’s guide can be found here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/955109-silverturtles-guide-sat-admissions-success.html

No point getting tons of Books if they’re too much to do.

It’s hard just to get through one book.

The blue book is crazy. I spent 2 weeks straight on the math section alone all day and without counting the number of pages I did, it would be hard to tell of I did anything at all.

My school’s SAT class came with Barron’s CR, Barron’s Math, and the Blue Book. I purchased Kaplan’s 12 Tests and some Ivy West book for a cheap price from someone who had recently graduated our high school. I bought PR’s Word Smart after graduating 8th grade (for what reason I don’t really remember) and bought Direct Hits a few months ago. I also had the CB Online Course.

The only ones I’ve actually touched are the Blue Book and Direct Hits; I found both to be helpful.

For vocab books, you definitely need Direct Hits. If you feel that you need more, however, there are PLENTY of free online resources for vocab words. I have about 5 vocab apps on my iPod touch, and I found these to be especially beneficial. (I put all the Direct Hits vocab on a flash card app.)
