Is Yale expected to announce this number before decisions are announced?

I just looked at the YDN for last year, and there was an 11/14 story on early applications that gave approximate numbers (5400-5500). I would imagine that this year they’ll have a similar story by sometime next week.

you know, I’ve been kind of wondering the same thing - I keep checking ydn every day to see if this year’s numbers are up yet.
Dartmouth’s ED I think increased like 3% this year, so here’s to hoping yale’s number’s don’t go much higher this year either… though I have a feeling they might :(

[Yale Daily News - Early apps drop 5 percent](http://www.yaledailynews.com/news/university-news/2009/11/16/early-apps-drop-5-percent/)

Hmm…so you guys think this will impact the number of applicants they accept early?

^No, the admitted # will be relatively stable. I’m glad it went down by 300, I guess… but still… 5,000 =(

At least it will give everyone a better shot (even though it is only by a VERY small margin)

Hey, I’ll take it! :)

Well, so far the pledge thread is still under 100, but I would imagine around 200 from CC applied to Yale? Hopefully we truly are the top of the list :)

^Hopefully. Not all of us will be though. Many of us must be, judging from that thread.

Oh thank goodness at least it went down a little bit. that makes me feel a tiiiiny bit better

I really hope early admit rates go up this year…in 2007 it was around 17%, last year it fell to 13%…and I’d cry if it dropped again this year :/

I seriously hope that the CC-ers are at the top of the list…because if they aren’t I have no chance, haha

The article on ydn’s been updated, brenzel says he’s planning on admitting 700-750 - which means the rate will be between 13.3 and 14%.
good news for us, though (in an evil sort of way)
stanford’s apps went UP 4% :D

I am so glad I didn’t apply stanford SCEA :D

man 13-14%? that’s still low compared to the 17+% of past SCEA rates :[
