Number of students ACCEPTED vs. APPLIED at specific programs??

Does anyone have the info for RPI, like how many they interview, how many they actually accept and then of those they accept, how many actually go?
Thanks!

Msu- 200-50-10

according to wikipedia (Feinberg SOM page):

"The Honors Program in Medical Education is geared toward high school seniors who have a strong desire to go into medicine. Typically, out of over 2,000 yearly applications, around 150-200 students are invited for an interview, and ultimately 40-50 students are granted admission."

But, I know for sure that this year, they cut down the admit rate to about 30-40 students from 40-50. So that makes an admission rate of about 1.5-2% (accepted/applied) -OR- about 17-23% (accepted/interviewed)

Just a reminder, that last number may not necessarily be how many they accept, it may be how many they accept and then choose to attend that program.

actually, that is the number they accept, and NU HPME, being top tier, has about 80% acceptance-of-admission rate. There are usually only about 30 HPMEs every year (that actually go to NU)... at least, that's what I heard from one of my friends who was in HPME.

where are you going next year ppenguin757?

As for PLME, the number of applicants keeps rising. I have no idea what the number is this year, but my son's acceptance letter for 2007 said there were 2019 applicants to PLME.

Angad - I'm going to the Bacc/MD at USC.

And, on that note, I looked back at my interview letter and it said approximately 1000 applied to the Bacc/MD this year.

ah.. good job penguin757. The USC ppl lost my Bacc/md application. I sent it in, but they never got it, so I didnt have a Bacc/md file with them and I never got an acceptance/rejection, so that was a bummer for me.

But all's well that ends well, and I'm off to HPME, so it had ended well...lol =P

good luck in the future!

Vanderbilt (through their ENGAGE program; binding decision)
Around 800 applied this year
6 interviewed
1 accepted

I don't know if the first two numbers are consistent year to year, but their med school's historically only taken 1 or 2 every year. I was in the ridiculously tiny interview pool but unfortunately not accepted.

Thanks, good luck to you, too!

Nova Southeastern University (FL)
100 applied
25 interviews
10 acceptances

RPI/union/AMC
around 500 apply to each program
100 interviewed for each program
10 -15 accepted in each program

At TCNJ/UMDNJ -

Here are the numbers - out of 100-150 students interviewed, 15-30 are finally accepted
