So I'm a Civil Engineering major and I'm wondering if...

Is it better to apply for UCD/UCI TAG (intending to finish all pre-reqs) and end up with 1 pre-req unfinished? or is it better to just apply for regular admissions without TAG with 1 pre-req unfinished?

How about the same question except with with 2 pre-reqs missing?

Is a GPA of 3.5 or above good enough for Civil Engineering for UC Davis and Irvine without TAG?

And finally, if I do transfer as a Civil Engineering to UCB, UCLA, UCD, or UCI, can I change majors later on? Like to another Engineering major, or possibly a L&S major?

Do you happen to know the unit limits for all the UC schools before they kick out transfers out for single and double majors? How about number of quarters or semesters before they kick transfers out?

yeah that is ok. It helps to TAG for priority but if are ready it doesn’t matter so much. I wouldn’t leave 2 or more pre-req’s undone if planning to transfer to a UC though.

3.5 is passable to get into UCD and UCI if you have completed your lower division. Since you are a CCC student it still is possible to get into UCLA and UCB if show potential.

No, that is not recommended especially if you get into UCB or UCLA. I’d recommend Environmental Engineering as a alt major but not many of the other Engineering majors if started down the civil direction. If you got into UCB’s or UCLA’s COE then why would you want to move to L&S for though is the question?

They expect Engineers are going to have excessive units and don’t care how long it takes to get there but they want you in and out in the COE in two years once start.
