Hey everyone, so my boyfriend is having a little bit of trouble deciding between schools. I committed to Cal Poly SLO and I will be attending there in the fall. My boyfriend and I had previously planned that he would move with me to San Luis Obispo and go to Cuesta College (the community college in SLO), then transfer to Cal Poly UNTIL he got accepted into Arizona State for nursing AND we realized that Cal Poly doesn’t have a nursing program! I was wondering if anyone could give me more insight on possible alternate options? Of course I don’t want my boyfriend to move 9 hours away from me but if Cal Poly doesn’t offer a nursing program, I won’t hold him back. I’m just wondering if there’s any path he could take that will lead him to nursing through Cuesta/Cal Poly?
I don’t know what level of nursing your boyfriend is looking for, but Cuesta has a Registered Nursing Program.
He’s looking to transfer so that he’s not stuck in a community college for 4 years
Well, Arizona State has an online RN to BSN program, so he could potentially do the RN at Cuesta and then do the online program while still living in SLO. I’m guessing there are other universities with similar online programs.
He should JUMP on the acceptance to Nursing it it means he can get the BSN. Nursing in CA is insanely competitive with many less seats than qualified applicants. The BSN is the superior degree to get now. Congrats on your cal poly acceptance. Set up Skype and plan to meet up over as many breaks as you can, then there is summer.
Especially meant if he is a direct admit. But excuse me, why is his girlfriend deciding where he will go to college eh?
