nursing chances?

I was wondering if someone can chance me to get into the nursing school at binghamton? i'm a senior=)
I'm planning in retaking both the ACT and the SAT but on my first try i got a 29 composite and 33 writing on the ACT and 640 CR 620 M and 640 W and on the SAT (I didn't look at a single SAT untill that day. whoops)
I got a 710 on Biology E
I took AP Bio and recieved a 5
I'm taking AP English Lit, AP Euro and AP Stats this year.
I've also taken a bunch of honors, advanced and college level classes all 4 years. My GPA is around a 93/94.
I've been involved in tennis, MUN, habitat for humanity, Leo's club, student council, NHS and environmental club. I also have a bunch of volunteer hours and am certified in CPR. I've worked as a camp consueler, waitress, receptionist and assistant. I also have several family members who went there or currently enrolled in Binghamton. Did i leave anything important out? What are my chances please?

As I’ve already posted on want2gohere’s (sp?) thread about Decker, it’s difficult to find the data relevant to “chancing…” I can only say that a 1260 SAT is slightly low for the more competitive schools (which I can’t even say Decker is one of since I don’t know their SAT range). If anything work towards raising the score.

Binghamton is a state school so things like legacy may be asked about but really don’t matter as much as a private school that depends on a huge amount of alumni donations for its endowment. AP scores only matter if you are accepted (but the rigor of your course schedule will be noted so the honors and advanced level classes are all pluses) so if you get in, you’ve just earned at least a few credits with that.

As long as your GPA is pretty high, your have a chance. Sorry I can’t say more than that.

Okay thank you so much! I am planning on raising my SAT scores because I have heard that Binghmaton prefers the SAT but that could just be a rumor. Do you have any other tips on what Binghmaton would like in an applicant?

Take whatever test you think will produce the highest score. I took both, did much better on the ACT with no studying than I did with the SAT and studying. I wish I had had time to retake the ACT. I submitted both.

It seems like you’re in a good position. I didn’t do anything that much different and got in to Harpur so keep up the work.
