I am a senior in high school and am feeling a little overwhelmed with what to major in. I know that I want to go into the healthcare profession because I have always loved that path. Do you think that nursing is a good profession to go in? I think that I would enjoy it but am not sure. Also, do nurses get paid well, and is it relatively easy to find a job? I don't want to graduate and not be able to find work. Another thing is, if I decide to go into nursing and go to graduate school, do I have to work before going to graduate school?

Also, my father is an immigrant and wants me to have a really good education/career. He wants me to become an engineer, which is not for me at all, or a doctor because they make a lot of money? He doesn’t know that I want to be a nurse, how should I tell him/convince him that becoming a nurse would be a good career?

I was informed that you take prerequisites for nursing, and then apply for the program in the last two years of college for at least some colleges, such as alabama. What if I decide to pursue nursing and don’t get accepted in my junior year of college?
