Nursing or Teaching

I am a undecided sophomore. I can’t not pick a major between nursing or teaching. As of now I have a 3.5 gpa.

I was always interested in nursing, but did not get accepted to my schools nursing program.

If I do nursing, I would major is psychology and minor in biology and try to get accepted to an accelerated nursing program. So I would do my four years plus a year for the accelerated program. But I am scared I won’t get into one because I did not get accepted into a 4 year nursing program.

If I major in childhood education, I would do the 5 year program my school offers because I would need my master to work in NYC. I would graduate on time. But I am hearing grad school for teaching is just as hard as nursing.

I am a very caring person and I’ve been stuck on this for a while. I know both jobs are great in there own way, I just can not choose what career is best for me.

How did you guys pick between nursing and teaching?

My D didn’t choose between the 2 as she was never interested in nursing, but she did the 5 year master’s at her SUNY school, which also has a direct entry nursing program, in which she had several friends, and from what she said, the education program is way easier than nursing.

Grad school for teaching isn’t hard. Teaching is hard though!
