Nursing Premajor Chances?

I am an undergrad who has already applied and awaiting for decision to SDSU. Based on my stats, I think I’m screwed for SDSU’s nursing premajor. I’m so anxious to the point where I want to cry and give up.
CSU GPA: 4.25
SAT: 1240 (Reported) 1270 (SS) I only reported 1240 but I heard SDSU superscores so I sent all my scores.
EI: 4640 (w/ 1240) & 4670 (w/ 1270)
Not reporting ACT because of low score.
Have taken 3 AP and 2 honors classes and managed nearly all A’s with one B. Currently taking 4ap and one honors. So 7 total AP.
I have taken college courses in chem (Grade: B) and econ (Grade: A) and plan on taking more but it will be unreported.

For SDSU’s Nursing program, an EI of 4500+ can be competitive, but you will be ranked based on your EI against all other applicants. Your EI makes your competitive so it will come down to how your EI stacks up against all the other applicants.

Best of luck.

2018 Nursing stats are not posted and I am sure they were higher, but based on the averages for 2017, the EI was 4577.

Thank you!

I agree with @Gumbymom that your chances look good. Last year’s statistics just got posted here https://nursing.sdsu.edu/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Freshmen-Admission-Statistics.pdf

@ahsoanxious if you are a local hs senior you may want to seriously consider going to Grossmont College for your BA in nursing.

The BA nursing program at Grossmont College is a part of the ba nursing program at Point Loma Nazarene.

All you have to do is go to Grossmont for your GE coursework and you need to maintain grades as high as possible, their nursing program is just as impacted as at SDSU & PLN. Speak with a counselor at Grossmont College to make sure you take all the right courses for the nursing program.

The best thing about it is the nursing program at Grossmont is about $5500, plus your 2 yrs of ge classes which at a junior college will be in expensive (and again if you are a SD hs senior you get your 1st yr at the jc for free).
After completing the ge classes you apply to the nursing program (those with highest grades get in).
When you graduate from the Grossmont nursing program your diploma is actually from Point Loma Nazarene. So it appears that you went to a $60,000/yr college but you actually paid a small portion for the same education.

Hopefully this makes sense. We know several who have gone through this program and who are currently in it and they all have loved it.

@Banker1 posted the 2018 stats on another thread. Here it is
