Nursing Program

Has anyone been accepted for the nursing program at UC Irvine yet?
It's almost mid march!

All of my friends that applied to nursing haven’t been accepted yet either… I guess they’re still reviewing the supplement application for it.

ok thanks i was starting to get paranoid.

I applied as a nursing major and didn’t get in. I got in for my alternate major. You should get your UCI decision soon.

GAHHH, I’m still waiting for nursing too… My alternate is civil engineering, but I’m still “being considered”.

The Power of One, if you don’t mind, could you post your stats? I’m guessing that there still hasn’t been anyone admitted to the nursing program yet?

Low-income family
Good ECs/ volunteer experience
Total Weighted GPA- 4.31
Total Unweighted GPA- 3.86
UC Weighted GPA- 4.25
UC Unweighted GPA- 3.81
SAT: 1870
SAT IIs: 630 and 600
(I never was a good test taker.)
4 APs taken total and passed
Currently taking 7 APs

As you can see my stats are average at best. I hope you guys get in. Good luck! :]

Was admitted to nursing just now. (: I’m up doing homework and I thought how funny it would be if they updated it at midnight, and they had! 99% sure I won’t be attending though, but good luck to everyone!

The Power of One,
I’m sorry you didn’t get in. ): Will you be going to Long Beach?

Kiley,
It’s AAYYY OOOOHH KAYY. I had my doubts over whether I even wanted to go to a UC for financial reasons among other factors, so I think I’ll most likely go to LB. Congrats again, you deserve it.

Awesome. (: I wish you luck there.

Kiley,

Are you a freshman applicant or transfer applicant? Congratulations nonetheless! Why won’t you be going to UCI?

I’m a freshman applicant. I won’t be going there because I got into UCLA’s nursing program as well, which has been my dream school for awhile now. :D

Oh, I see. Great job  Did you have to go through an interview with UCI, too?

Verona, people that applied for nursing had to go through an interview with UCI?

Well, I am a transfer applicant so it might be different for freshmen. I’m not quite sure how the process works, whether they choose the applicants they are on the fence about for an interview or whatnot, but I was contacted.

They said that I should hear from them again by the end of the month of March, even as a transfer applicant.

RamenNation–are you a freshmen applicant, as well?

Unfortunately I am not, I am just inquiring about it for a few of my friends that have applied to the nursing program and haven’t gotten any response yet. If you don’t mind me asking, where did you transfer from Verona?

Edit: I also found that the interview is for transfer applicants
Transfer and 2nd Baccalaureate students will be selected based on their UC application, Nursing Science Supplemental Application, and an interview. Students who are selected for interviews will be contacted by the Nursing Science Student Affairs Office with interview dates in February or March 2010.

Oh, I see. That makes a lot of sense then.

I am (attempting) to transfer from a California Community College in Northern California. Yeah, I hear that nursing is one of the last majors to be sent out due to its selectivity. If your friends are freshmen applicants, they should be hearing from them within the next week!

Thank you for the information verona, I wish you the very best!

Has anyone else been accepted into nursing yet?

Just got rejected…
