Nursing school acceptance stats

My DD is a current junior in high school. We know it is very competitive to be accepted into the nursing program. Could anyone let me know the average gpa (weighted /unweighted ) and test scores to be considered.
Thank you!!

SATS matter!! This year the minimum cutoff for UNH was 1270, that had 1,110 apps for 50 spots Belmont 1150 (they do not auperscore) UVM 1250 and Bloomsburg was 1170. SATs are the gatekeepers since Most programs have 50-100 seats due to clinical rotations. It is brutally competitive. Start studying. Average gpa 3.7 out of 4. Villanova and UPenn and Pitt even higher.

@Suzsteck…curious. Where did u find those stats?

I am currently a freshman in QU’s nursing programming. I can tell you that it is VERY competitive. I remember when I went to the accepted students day, the head of the nursing program gave stats about the number of applications, the number of people who were accepted. 500 people were accepted out of 2,000+ applications to the program. Based on that information I was able to calculate the acceptance rate into the nursing program, and I found that it had a 20% acceptance rate. At that point in time, they were looking for students who had a 92+ GPA and had an SAT score of 1250. As long as you take a lot of science courses, have good grades, and have some extracurricular activities, you should be a good candidate for the nursing program at QU and even at other colleges.

@FutureNursingStudent2017 how do you like QU so far? My daughter was accepted and it’s very high up on her list of potential schools

I really like Quinnipiac. It is a really nice campus and so far I seem to be doing good with my classes and everything. I personally am glad that I went to Quinnipiac because the campus is gorgeous and you really do have a lot of access to resources that will help you with academics, health, and so much more. I am also in the Nursing LLC which I would encourage your daughter to join if she does decide to go to QU. LLC stands for living-learning community, and in it, nursing majors all live on one floor in Mountainview and do different activities that are specific to the LLC. I find it to be very beneficial because everyone is taking the same classes so everyone asks each other for help and sometimes there are large study sessions.
