Alright so I have taken most of my college courses at 1 place. I got a D in microbiology. I also only took Anatomy and Physiology at a different community college. Just those two classes. I didn't do well on those. I really wasn't focused on school. I have since moved to California and am starting fresh at a new community college. I requested transcripts from my first community college where I took the majority of my classes and they have been received and everything. I want to attempt to get into a nursing program. The rules are that you can only retake one of the major science courses which would be microbiology, and both Anatomy and Physiology. So if i transfer my credits from the second place then I have no chance at all of getting into a nursing program. I called and they said that if I don't want the credits I don't have to transfer them. I've been reading online and people are saying if you don't report all transcripts it could be considered academic dishonesty. I wasn't receiving financial aid during the time so it won't automatically show up as needing to be transferred. If I don't want the credits and actually want a shot at a nursing program can I just not request transcripts and have it be ok? I don't want to be 5 years out of nursing school and get my license taken away for something stupid. If I transfer them I have no chance at all.

You must provide an official transcript from each college you have attended.

Who are “they”, perhaps “they” can point you to the written rules on this.

They could be state nursing boards, a nursing program, your employer, the ANA (although I doubt it), etc. It’s called fraud and is a serious problem to the schools and nursing boards.

I’m confused about what the order of events is here and how many courses you re-took and how many you rec’d less than a C on the second time.

Maybe the CC doesn’t want you to retake classes within their own school or the CCC system and doesn’t care if you retake transfer units. It is really unclear what the rules are for your situation and why. I’d make an appt and go see them.

Definitely if you plan to transfer you will have to show all transcripts at that time. If the program you are going to is self contained and it is really ok not to show prior CC transcripts then fine.

Have you spoken with an admissions counselor in regards to acceptance into a nursing program? I don’t think that the chance of acceptance is very promising. How are your grades in your other classes? Is there another area of healthcare that you would be interested in? As previous posters responded, you must provide complete transcripts. If you speak with the counselors, perhaps they would consider a nursing admissions on the condition of satisfactory grades in repeating the above courses.
