Nursing

I understand that admittance to the UNC Nursing School is competitive, but does anyone know just how difficult it is to get in? If you are a current nursing student, could you provide any advice? Thanks! :)

It definitely is competitive, as are all of Carolina’s professional programs. I’m a pharmacy major and know more about admittance to pharmacy school. However, I do have a friend who was not accepted to nursing school for next year and is retaking two courses this summer to improve her GPA. There are also a lot of applicants who have already graduated and are coming back to school which makes for a more competitive pool. Overall, it is competitive but definitely manageable and for the few people I know who were not accepted, I know many who were accepted their first or second time applying.

Thank you so much! Do most students who don’t make it in the first time give it a second shot, or do most switch majors?

What is the acceptance rate into the nursing school?
