nushuffle.com

nushuffle.com was mentioned in another thread, but I figured it deserved its own post. My brother goes to NEU and says that alot of students are unhappy there. nushuffle.com is a popular site on campus with alot of students who are disgruntled, and as mentioned in another thread, is a must read if you are interested in attending. My bro told me to stay clear of Northeastern with all their beauacratic(sp?) red tape and so I plan on applying to BU, Emerson, and Suffolk.

I think thats retarted. I mean, yeah, northeastern may have their problems, but so does every other school. And of all school, you think BU is better? Yeah right. That school doesn't slighly care about their students. They'll do anything to get you to go there, and then as soon as you pay your tuition check, you're out on your own. It's really stupid that you would not apply to a school because of some dumb website. All schools have their problems. No place is perfect.

All I said about nushuffle.com was that its a popular site on campus with many of the disgruntled students. I never said I was not applying to the school based on some website.

The reason I'm not applying there is my brother told me horror stories about getting screwed over at NEU. Princeton Review ranked Northeastern top 5 schools in the country for long lines and red tape and top 5 for students dissatisfied with financial aid--it's common practice there for the school to cut your financial aid after the first year. It's no wonder that only 60% of students at NEU finish school there. Look at the Princeton Review or US News' rankings to see for yourself.

I've found that princeton review is one of the least accurate sources available. That's just judging from personal experience though.

Yeah there are some really stange things on princeton review. I mean, I didnt mean to be rude before, but I disagree. PR is based on like stupid little surveys. No one knows how accurate they are.

I would never pass judgement based on someone else's opinion. I think you should have visited the campus and talked to other students (not just the unhappy, cynical ones), etc before you decided not to go there. Unless you did already, but I'm just seeing from your post that you took your brother's word for it.

I love the campus. I've talked to students (from wandering around the campus) and from people in the Boston area who love it or just like it, but no one really despised it; no place is perfect. My co-worker went to BU, she loved it there and she has friends at NU, where 1) they were amazed at how NU grew and 2) NU had the best parties, everyone in the Boston area flocked there. I had lunch with her and her friends who all went to Boston schools, and heard the BEST (and most gross, haha AND horrifying) stories, plus some negatives that came with advice on how to overcome them.

And rankings...mmph, let's not go there. We can battle in rankings but really, where does it get you? There's always one flaw or another in it, though they are interesting nonetheless.

I think that if you hate your college that much, you should just transfer and stop complaining...

nushuffle.com has new articles up and they are pretty funny. A must read for those applying to or accepted to NEU.

yeah their satirical, but y would that make someone not wanna apply? BU has a site like that 2 and so does drexel (drexelshaft.com)

What is BU's site? And as far as I can see, drexelshaft.com is just a page with a logo and link to a message board.

drexelshaft has a game on it where you kill the students in a van
